To The Officin of ke turn Nuth Ninte THIS HIS little book is dedicated to you , my brother Officers , and your kin , both in memory of those that have leapt the last big fence , and to those who still have to make the big jump , with heart alight . We all loved horses , used them properly , and enjoyed the sport that they earned . This is no historical tome . The Regimental Diary gives us that . But , I had in mind that it would be fun not to forget those marvellous days , when we made our " all - out " efforts to learn horsemastership , to try to become horsemen , and , when the main subject of our conversation was " riding " , and its excellence . John Kemple did his best to teach some of us to fall off , climb on again , and keep smiling . He is an historical figure , in the history of our Regiment . of " licendus |
