MR . R. W. HOBSON AND MIss J. G. DUDGEON
The marriage took place yesterday at St. Michael's , Chester Square , of Mr. Richard Walton Hobson , 12th Royal Lancers , elder son of Lieutenant - Colonel G. W. Hobson and Mrs. Hobson , of Cornhill , Pattishall , Towcester , and Miss Joan Greville Dudgeon , daughter of the late Mr. H. W. Dudgeon and Mrs. Dudgeon , of 49 , Grosvenor Street . The Rev. D. B. Kittermaster officiated .
The bride , who was given away by her brother , Mr. P. W. A. Dudgeon , wore a gown of ice - blue chiffon velvet with a veil , tinted to match , bordered with family Brussels lace . She carried a bouquet of palest pink mixed flowers and wore an aquamarine necklace , the gift of her mother . William Richard and Andrew John Dudgeon ( twin nephews of the bride ) were the trainbearers , and they wore kilts of the Douglas tartan with white silk shirts and lace jabots and ruffles . She was also attended by one little girl - Margaret Clifton - Brown - and by six grown - up brides maids - Miss Mary Lampson , Miss Patricia Schreiber , Miss Hermione Hobson ( sister of the bridegroom ) , Miss Diana Watson , Miss Betty Fletcher , and Miss Ann Wilson . The little girl wore a frock of ice - blue chiffon velvet with a headwreath of mixed blue flowers , and the older maids wore dresses in shades of delphinium - blue georgette with gathered bodices and full , flowing sleeves . They had wreaths of natural blue mixed flowers in their hair , and wore diamond arrows , the gifts of the bridegroom . Mr. John Hobson was best man to his brother . A guard of honour was formed by N.C.O.s of the 12th Royal Lancers as the bride and bridegroom left the church . Mrs. Dudgeon afterwards held a reception at 3. Cadogan Gate , and then the bride and bridegroom left to spend their honeymoon in Scotland . The bride travelled in a fawn marocain dress with a pale pink fine straw hat and a fox fur , the gift of the bridegroom's mother .
