Transcription THE WEDDING OF CAPT . IAN STRAKER , 91H LANCERS .
Two prominent north country families were united at St. Cuth bert's Church , Greenhead , Northumberland , on the 2nd inst . , when Capt . Ian Straker , 9th Lancers , only son of Mr. John Coppin Straker , The Leazes , Hexham , was married to Miss Helen Audrey Joicey , youngest daughter of Colonel Ed . Joicey , of Blenkinsopp . Hall , Northumberland . The bridegroom is a well - known military cross - country rider , and , like his father , who has been Master of the Tynedale Foxhounds for over thirty years , is a keen huntsman . He was severely wounded in the earlier part of the war , but recovered completely , and has since seen active service . After a brief honeymoon he returns to the front .

Major Lord Charles Cavendish - Bentinck , brother of the Duke of Portland , has been wounded while serving with the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force . He was formerly in the 9th Lancers , and was wounded at Mafeking . At different times he has acted as Master of the Croome and Blankriey Foxhounds .
