ROYAL MILITARY COLLEGE .
J
R.M.C. ( SANDHURST ) v . BRADFIELD WAIFS .
season .
This game , played on the Military College cadets ground on Saturday , opened the Sandhurst football The game lost some of its interest from the fact that four of the Waifs missed their train , and their team on arrival hrad to pick up . four sub stitutes . For the first quarter of an hour play was fairly even , and up and down field . Then the home goal had
narrow escape , the custodian rushing out and missing the ball , which seemed certain to go into the net , but one of the backe got to it in time and cleared . From this point onwards the homesters were decidedly the better team , and , after a fine rm , Porter , their outside right , put in a lovely centre , which Taylor , the Sandhurst captain , finely headed into the corner of the net , Treleaven having no chance of saving . The Cadets maintained their pressure , and brilliant work by C. W. Treleaven , the visiting goal . keepor , and L. A. Bernard , the left back , alone pre vented them sooring several times . Half - time arrived with no addition to the score . In the second half the home side maintained their advantage , and Treleaven splendidly saved some grand ehots by Porter and Tay lor . Despite continual attacks , the home team were unable to again scoro , the game thue ending in their favour by the only goal scored ,
