Captain Lon-Phillips relieved Captain Going as Adjutant and
Major Nash returned to organise Command Squadron, the
renamed Reece Squadron. Conversion training to the Chieftain
tank with which the Regiment was to be equipped in Germany
began in June The timing ol‘tho move to Detmold in December
curtailed the hunting season but five officers regularly turned
out and Lt Wright had a number of winning rides on “Bel
Ambrc”. The horse had to be handed over to the incoming
Regiment — Queen’s Dragoon Guards. The Regiment had com-
pleted the handover by the second week in January 1971 and,
concentrated again, occupied Hobart Barracks, Detmold.
