To HIT Mt: ? ., DH) 1 SA Sgt Palfreyrnan was promoted to SQMS to replace SSgl Hayter who left us for HQ Sqn. Sgt Bond left us on promotion to run the WOs and 3315 Mess temporarily, before taking over the post of HQ Squadron SQMS, Lt Cooke returned briefly from Australia before disappearing on posting to RAC JLR. During the first week of December a selected group, mainly from SHQ. attended the Battle Group Trainer (BGT) at Sennelagerl This event, not normally worth a mention, will be remembered for two reasons, First. a B Son Scimitar fired the first notional round of World War 3 and second, Sgt “Oilrag” Proctor was awarded the posthumous CDM by the Squadron Leader for his heroic stand against a complete Motor Rifle Battalion. The CDM was subsequently awarded (to a resurrected Sgt Proctor) the following week on parade in front of the whole squadrons We participated in a most successful Regimental ORT on 10 December and then it was down to serious training for Christmas and our Squadron Social on 19 December!
