THE 9TH1 12TH ROYAL LANCERS REGIMENTAL JOURNAI B Squadron Early Successes Last year’s Squadron Notes covered the transition from Close Reconnais- sance role. our early success on Troop Tests and our preparations for the Spring PROBEX, the French, British and American Tripartite Exercise mounted from Wolfenbuttel. There followed a short frustrating period during which we were narrowly beaten in the Inter»Squadron Rugby Com- petition final and even more narrowly robbed of victory in the Inter Squadron Athletics Competition. The only bright news at this time was the announce- ment that Tpr Thorpe had come top of the Junior NCO Cadre Course and had suddenly become LCpl Thorpe — a well deserved promotion. 24 \L-l mmmrwquml my Irtmp tum: Regimentnl Smnll Arms Camp Seunel-gr Between ”-15 June, the whole Regiment moved to the Sennelager Training Centre to carry out small arms firing and Annual Personal Weapons Tests (APWTs).
