Thanks to the appalling weather and
training commitments this season has
been a total disaster. of our plans,
only the Inter Squadron competition
took place. This was won. between
showers, by A Squadron who beat B
Squadron very narrowly in the final
match.
We lost to the Royal Hussus in the
RAC Cup in conditions that were more
suitable for water polo than cricket and
again stumbled against them in the
Army Cup, having previously beaten
14/2011 by 2 wickets.
The Squadrons fared little better in
the General’s Cup where, due to
training and operational commitments,
each Squadron had to concede matches
and were eliminated.
The Taylor Trophy, for the season‘s
top wicket taker. again went to
W02 Simpson who seems to make a
habit of winning it,
The cricket club acquired a new
trophy this year. WOZ(RQMS) Bellamy
presented a magnificent Rose Bowl, in
memory of his father, to be presented
to the season‘s “Most Improved
Young Cricketer‘; this was won by
Tpr Barnett.
We all hope that this coming year
will see conditions improve radically
so we can once again enjoy the sound
leather on willow under a clear, blue.
warm and sunny sky.
