Now that we've been settled in
Wolfenbuttel for over a year it is time
yet again to put pen to paper and
reflect the past year‘s activities in the
Technical Stores Department.
in the past year there have been
various exercises to put “Tech" to the
test of ‘procuring’ spares for the fleet
of vehicles.
None was more of a test than Ex
Lionheart, with so many units on
exercise. requiring the services of the
Ordnance. It was a time when we called
in all our past given favours and used
our ingenuity to enable the LAD to
repair our vehicles to a war footing,
Like most Regimental departments
we too are subject to inspections of
stores and equipment by outside
agencies. This year we managed to
excel ourselves on the Ordnance
Ancillary inspection. Praise is clue to
those who run the various equipment
accounts throughout the Regiment.
The comings and goings of person-
nel have been few this year. LCpl
Ratcliffe was posted to Sandhurst for
two years, W02 (RQMS (T)) Under-
hill departed on promotion! to the
Hotel on the Hill as Lt Underhlll, doing
numerous jobs but mainly Motor
Transport Officer, We take this op-
portunity to congratulate Mick and
Janet on his well earned commission
and wish them all the best in the future.
To replace Lt Underhill we imported
W02 Fergus from A Squadron’s
Sergeant-Major's Office as the new
RQMS(T). (Variety is the spice of life).
Also from A Squadron (could this be a
take over bid) comes LCpl Bradbury
who gives up his clerical trades and
joins our hard working technical store-
men.
It is interesting to note that from
March 84 until April 85 we managed to
receipt and issue from Ordnance a total
of 15,502 items , (who says we are
mostly closed),
Soon we start the new training season
and are off on our first exercise of 1985.
We plan to be open 24 hours a day;
present and new customers are always
welcome,
