THE 9TH/ IZTH ROYAL LANCERS REGIMENTAI. 2nd Troop An eventful year for 2nd Troop with many arrivals and departures. Two changes at the top —Sgt “Geordie” Henderson led the tram: till the arrival of 2Lt Diamond in May. just prior to Ex ROMAN HUSSAR in Italy. Howe- ever the latter‘s stay was short and sweet and in a few months he left to master the mysteries of Striker prior to posting to B Squadron. ZLt Routledge arrived in time to be “broken in" on the autumn FTX, together with Tprs Chamberlain and Lowe. 22 JOURNAL 2 Troop 1986 On our return to barracks we said a fond farewell to SSgt Henderson who left us on justly deserved promotion, to become SQMS. We hope now for excellent relations with the all import- ant stores, especially with the arrival in the Troop of Cpl Dick Moulds from behind the counter. We have also recently lest Tprs Thompstone and Smith who have been seduced away, with promises of great things by SHQ. January saw Cpl Harrison doing sterling work as Acting Troop Sergeant in preparing for PRE and handover to QDG. We welcomed Tpr “Dragonfly” Flowers, Tpr Thorpe married Andrea and Tpr Randell was once seen on the tank park as opposed to the ski slope. Tprs Thorpe and Major revealed unexpected skills when achieving 2nd and 5th places in the inter-squadron ski meeting. Now safely back in England we look forward to the next four years eagerly. We also look forward to the arrival of the elusive Sgt Scott. |
