The last year in Wolfenbilttel has
been a very busy and successful one
for the LADr
Ex Rhine Farewell in April got off
to a slow start when the road party
encountered blizzard conditions as
they left Wolfenbilttel, the 20 hour
journey to Baden Wurtemburg is not
one we wish to complete again in a
hurry and several members of the
LAD were seen to wince when sitting
down for the next couple of days. The
LAD shower was once again in full use
by all members of HQ Squadron. this
popular and useful facility almost
came to grief when Cfn Arnold went
a bit over the top with the petrol for
the Benghazi burner! The lack of
major assemblies at this time meant a
fairly large area of hard standing had
to be found to set up an ECP. A
convenient car park next to a sports
stadium in Willingen soon filled up
with dead vehicles and their crewsr
They became an object of local interest
On return from Bavaria, thoughts
turned once again to the annual tri-
national exercise, PROBEX. Although
only small participation is normally
made by the LAD, this year, the ageing
AEC recovery vehicle had the unusual
task of recovering the American
recovery vehicle!
In June, C Squadron went on ex-
change to the Italian Army, The fitter
section almost didn’t make it, when it
