Mechanical Transport Troop
At the time of writing this report
we have to say some hellos and some
goodbyes.
Firstly hello toi~ Capt Simpson, Cpl
Sedgwiclt (PR1), LCpl Ward (COMD
TP), Tprs Clarke, Welhourn. William-
son from the RAC Trg Regt, and Tpr
Hardy from the 0rd Room.
Farewell tor
Cpl Allen (retiring to civvy life)
LCpl Hunt (retiring to civvy life)
Tpr Love (retiring to civvy life)
Tpr Lawrence (retiring to civvy life)
Various incidents have happened.
Within the troop, we now know that
Challenger (Tanks) tend to choke on
Bedfords, Tpr Rae take note. Woofer’s
also take a liking to Bedfurds. Tpr Hall
take note. There have been other minor
accidents within the troop, but happily
no serious injuries.
Troop Training (Ex Rhine Farewell)
went off well. As packets were leaving
for the sun from Northampton Barracks,
Cpl Anderson and Cpl Reid who (left
24 hrs earlier) were sitting on the Auto~
bahn reportedly doing a boom trade in
the Rasmtte. Cpl Anderson during the
Ex did his ”Postman Pat" hit keeping
the Regiment supplied with daily papers
and mail not forgetting freight for
Tech, and clockng some 7,000 Kms
during the exercise. Cpls Reid and
MT Department Allen seemingly enjoyed themselves on
heartbreak hill (Pol Point) with the RCT
(fatigue men).
Tprs Clarke. deom and Hall
have fallen in love with various girls
near and far. Best of luck for the
future.
With the exercise period over it was
time to get down to the serious business
of preparation of the vehs for PRE
and handover to the QDG; in April.
All went really well for the B veh fleet.
A special thanks to the lads for all the
hard work, late hours and mileage they
put in.
The time of writing sees MT settling
down into its new home in Carver Bks.
where we have a new fleet of vehs to
take over and new tasks.
