Major Wright on parade. Mons/Moy Day
J After a good Christmas, 1986 got
off to a very cold beginning which was
to last all the way through the spring SHQ
and saw the Squadron operating in
artic conditions on several occasions.
In January we welcomed in the new
EME Capt Duncanr In February the
Squadron was involved in exercise Hard
Frost. This was an aptly named out-
loading exercise and took place just
outside Wolfenbilttel where the snow
was about two feet deep and the temp-
erature hovering around - 20 degrees
centigrade It was during the exercise that
our new SQMS, ‘Q' Palfreyman had
his first experience of setting up the
echelon tentage in bad conditions and
this was to stand him in good stead
when we went Troop Training in Baden
Wurtenburg in Aprilr In March we had
* a Squadron border patrol, this gave the
REME and Pay Office members a
chance to go out and have a two day
trip along the Inner German Border.
Also in March we went on the Regi-
mental Gunnery Camp at Hohne. This
is always a testing time for gunfitters
