THE WH/lZTH ROVAL LANCERS REGIMENTAL JOURNAL Quartermaster Technical Although these notes should be concerned with the troop in BAOR. it must be said that from July onwards we all had one eye on moving to Wimbish. By November all efforts were concentrated on two things. the move to UK and ensuring the Regiment had a first-class handover to QDG in Wolfenbtittclt Over the past year the troop has done its job to the usual high standards, Much hard work has been put in by the whole troop, which is sometimes not fully appreciated by those outside. We enjoyed a very close working relation- ship with the LAD, and hope for the 36 The Staff same in Wimbish. it is difficult to pick out any specific high spot from the past twelve months, one that comes to mind is the visit by the Col of the Regiment to the Tech Department over Mons Moy, Also the sight of the QM(T), TQMS and the entire Tech Staff gazing across the helicopter pad anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Regiments Chocks and Chains for Rhine Farewell. The arrival of two sixteen tonners with 30 mins to go before loading did result in a hasty change in plan A, with a few amendments to plan B. Of the personalities within the Dept, the author does not intend to mention anyone in particular. All have done their share in contributing to what has been a very successful year for the Dept. However. we do say welcome to LCpl Ratciiffe our ‘Man in Wimhish’. on return from posting; And we do offer congratulations to Sue and Adrian Beak on the birth of daughter Sarah. The majority of the Dept have spent several years in BAOR and all are looking forward to the benefits and delights of Wimbish. and areas some- what further north, |
