justly proud of their contribution
towards helping the Regiment gain
such a fine report.
Exercise Rhine Farewell took place
once more in the South of Germany
and on the long trip to the training
area we almost lost the Tech bin
waggons when they were all stuck in
the snow on the main Stuttgart autobahn
Guardroom Notes
Now that the dust of the move from
BrA.O.Rr has began to settle, the cell
doors are well and truly closed. for
some of us.
The last year in station proved to be
a busy one, with emphasis on security.

during a blizzard. The trip took almost
24 hours. During Rhine Farewell we
took the opportunity to move the
complete Echelon even further south
to spend a few days on the shores of
the Bodensee (Lake Constance). Many
people said they would like to see it in
summer time. At the end of Troop
Training the Colonel of the Regiment
visited us and spent several hours going
Many complained about the distance
they had to walk to get to their cars.
However, it proved worthwhile when
we all arrived in the UK whole.
At certain stages throughout the
year we were able to provide a number
round the departments and meeting
people. It was noted that the LAD got
the timing right for the tea and biscuits
for the Colonel, but no-one else got
any.
During the summer we got just about
everyone off on leave and took part in
as much sport as we could, winning
the Inter Squadron Cricket competition
and the Regimental Tug of War. The
year’s end saw us once again out on the
autumn exercises and as these did not
finish till early November the year
went out as it began. cold and wet,
Pay 7 The Good, Bad and Ugly
of S-a-side football teams to test the
skills of the Provo Staff. Many thanks
to those who gave up their free time to
take part.
The mandatory free showers and hot
meals were provided after the events.
