‘Duck Jibes' were however a problem
for some people. We also managed to
borrow some canoes so everyone was
given a basic lesson in their use,
We had to go to another lake for
waterskiing which was tremendous fun,
and Very popular. Tpr Glover performed
some amazing feats while Sgt Nichol]

We had a couple of barvb-ques in
the evening to give Machin and Askins
enough energy to tackle the girls at
the local disco. These two spent a lot
of time pining for their girlfriends
back in Wolfenbiittel and eventually
turned to drink, joining Tpr Brown
who had turned to drink anyway.
Being Cavalry Soldiers we found our
way into a riding school, with Tprs
Cunningham. Lowe and Shaw doing a
reasonable impression of ‘Devils on
Adventure Trained
Horseback‘i
The exercise was extremely worth-
while. It contained some activities
which were new to us, Bavaria is an
excellent place to exercise, whether
it be arduous training or watersports.
Many thanks to Sgt Nicholl who was
invaluable for his patience and hours
of instruction, without which little
could have been achieved.
