Admin Troop
As in previous years we had our
annual pilgrimage to the South of
Germany to carry out regimental
training. This year. as we did not have
our own Stalwart driver, SSgt Eddie
Edwards was drafted in to fill the slot.
He must be the highest paid POL driver
in the Army.
After a 14 hour road journey for the
Admin Road Party the first task was
to find a shop that could supply us
with 270 bread rolls a day This worked
fine for the first few days until we
started to move around the area and
could not then order them in advance.
Tpr Collins gave a new meaning to
the phase ‘fast food' when one morning,
while frying eggs, he spill water into
the frying pan and incinerated the eggs
in two seconds flat! LCpl Williams was
our sausage cooking expert — the
trouble was he ate them as fast as he
cooked them, Tpr Holmes is the ‘Scarlet
Pimpernel' of the Troop: when there is
work to be done, he can never be found,
Our first replen saw the normally
placid SSgt Edwards throwing full
jerrycans of petrol at people when Tpr
Gillies drove his Scimitar up the side of
the stalwart
Once back in Wolfenbiittel, the
vehicles cleaned and serviced, it was
on to Summer working hours which
gave us plenty of opportunities for
swimming and windsurfing at Salzgitter
and admiring the topless frauleins.

The Autumn exercise will be remem»
bered for the number of replens we did
— no sooner had we filled our pods up,
we were off again on another replen.
Tpr Collins did a great job of bogging
the Stalwart when the bank of a
drainage ditch gave way. It was lucky
the Stalwart did not turn over, Most of
the exercise we were supposed to have
been co-localed with Tiffy Smith, if
only we'd known where he was, Exer-
cise over and it was back to camp to
prepare for the handover and then
back to the UK to which everybody
was looking forward.
SSgt Frost has now gone to run the
Sgts' Mess, and has been replaced by
SSgt Hudson, Cpl Franklin is now the
Post NCO and his place has been taken
by Cpl Leggatl. Tpr Clarke joined the
troop in place of Tpr Holmes who
moved to 3Tmop,
SHQ searching for the OC‘s chocolate
