GENERAL
We are indebted to the Army Benevolent Fund, the Royal British Legion and the other Service Charities for their continuing sup-
port of our work. A particular word of thanks must go to the many SSAFA caseworkers, who are all voluteers and who are usual-
ly the first point of contact for our beneficaries. Their reports will eventually determine the extent of help we and other Service
charities should provide.
This office could not function without our own case officers Major M H S Ayshford Sanford and Captain A M G Arkwright. They
are available to scrutinise recommendations for grants and also they will visit and investigate case when we feel this is necessary.
Our thanks must also go to all those retired officers who so generously contribute each year to the Association’s funds.
Finally, we must remember that a sizeable proportion of our income comes from the Serving Regiment. Virtually every serving
officer and soldier gives up voluntarily one day’s pay per annum to the Association. We wouldnot be able to respond to requests
from grants without this financial support.
