Once again this has been a
tremendous year for the Regiment,
Winning the so called 'Graiid Slam' ot
Divrsion. BAOR and Army
Champlonshios for the second lime in
three years
In order to win the Wilkinson
Sword, as Army Champions, training
started early A great effort had to be
made Since the team was a little rusty
after 1983. ln the DiVisienal
Competition the Regiment played
eight matches, consisting at twenty
five games without losing a single
game. The team was now well set up
for it’s fourth appearance in the EAOR
50
Trophy
finals starting as tavounies We won
the four preliminary matches, all of
them by 270. ln the semirliiials 7 Sig
Regt proved to be the hardest
opposnion to date, however, the score
wasBVl in the Regiment’s favour lit
the BAOR finals, the champions from
last year. 21 Signals Regt, were the
opposition, however, alter a good
match they too were beaten Sal. The
result made the Regiment BAOR
Champions for the third time in flve
years. It also qualified the team for the
Army Championships at Aldershot.
After some hard training, despite
exercise commitments, the team
travelled to the UK. They were able ti)

Regt. They proved ro be a difficult side
to beat, although in the end the
Regiment won 270. 8 Signals Regt
played Well in the other semifinal and
were confident that they could now
beat us in the final.
After a two hour break the boys
were ready to play Cpl Evrson, despite
many injuries, came onto play. Much
to their amazement 8 Signal Regt lost
the first two sets 152, l577; they .
gained ground by Winning the third
l571l. However, the team rose to the
