Mrs Hovland and Mrs Frake, with the
occasional customer slipping through
into the inner sanctum, to disturb the
HMO from his research project on
tropical fish.
Meanwhile in the office our two
secretaries, Mrs Bellion and Julie
Meyers, having typed ail their letters,
decide what cakes and rolls should be
bought for coffee time.
Night duties are carried out by the
regimental medics, doing at least one
full 24 hr duty a week. Often more
when the squadrons are away on
exercise, taking their squadron medic
With them.
The March regimental exerCise
proved a busy tinte for the Regimental
Aid Post [FR/AP} and the squadron
medics » With a number of cold
injuries— sore throats, and the ever
present gut infections. The new boot
also caused difficulties, overtight
lacing leading to circulatory problems
in theteet.
We were pleased to be more
involved in our own wartime roles,
with many simulated casualties being
led into the system. The casualties
were dealt with the utmost 'despatch‘.
The only ‘l'irccup' concerned a rather
cunstipated 8 Son ambulance,
straining to empty it's load of a slightly
rotund Squadron Leader tare there

bearers?l.
The medics practiced realistically
on Troop Traintng.

We were fortunate to have a Secltort
of the Regimental Band tall trained
medicsl under Sgt Cross, attached to
us for the duration of the exercise—
their normal place is with a Divisional
Field Ambulance.
