Year 1986
Transcription THE 9TH/12TH ROYAL LANCERS REGIMENTAL JOURNAL
Ex Grand Canyon and Quarter Final
in the Autumn of last year was an op-
portunity for Commander Mainlennnoe,
Lt Col Hawxwell, to visit the LAD in
the field. He was well pleased with our
standards and congratulated the LAD
on a job well done.
Gunnery Camps December ‘85 and
March ‘86 were two high profile periods
for the Armourers and Instrument
Technicians. The very good results
obtained by the Regiment at the end
made all the hard work prior to and
during firing, well worth the effort.
The LAD continues to support the
smaller Exercises such as Bouelager and
Probex and, in addition. we have had
detachments to the Falklands and to
mes. Later this year Sgt Foster and
Cpl Coulson will be going to the sunnier
climes of Belize. take your shark repel-
lent with youl
For those who have been wondering
what the “lean-to" at the end of Build-
ing 2.4 is. I would like to assure you that
it is not a garage for the OC‘s car. The
PSA are adamant that it is a roller brake
tester for our 3 vehicle fleet.
The LAD continues to be well repre-
sented at sports with several players in
the Regimental football, hockey and
rugby teams, while two rugby players.
Ssgt Harries and LCpl Whittaker, have
played for the Corps. The LAD's visits
to the gymnasium twice a week are very
popular and thanks are due to the PT
Staff for adding variety to the fitness
training.
Not all of you may realize that when
the Regiment departs for Wimhish the
LAD will he remaining in Wolfenhuttel
to support the incoming Regiment the
Queen's Dragoon Guards. Through the
medium of the Regimental magazine,
the 0C and All Ranks of the LAD
would like to wish you all a safe journey
to the UK and a happy tour in Wim-
bish,
