ACC (Rest?) Weekend
”What shall we do this Year?“
“Something to involve the wives and
children:”
"CAMPING!!!"
After much planning and preparation
Friday morning found some eight mem-
bers of the ACC, two ration Storemen.
one Medic/Duty Driver, seven wives
and some fourteen children at the Cam-
ping Plat: Bad Harzhurg. of course. it
was raining! We forgot to book the

sunshine. As the rain came down so the
twelve by twelves and nine by nines
went up with wives and children looking
out Were we mad? Should we have
stayed in our warm, dry kitchens?
During the afternoon. however. the
sun started to shine at last; Barbecue lit.
everyone fed (busman‘s holidayl). Day
one almost to a close.
Saturday we awoke to rain but the
show had to go on. although hampered
by the weather, we did manage to have
some fun and games and at times. the
sun did greet us.
The best day was Sunday. (not be-
cause it was the last) but the sun shone
almost from start to finish during which
we had to pack up and head back to
Wolfenbuttel (Endex).
So here the ACC Bank Holiday draws
to a close. many thanks to SQMS Bond
and his crew for standing in for us dur-
ing our absence. under the watchful eye
of Cpl Holland ACC brave lad.
