THE 9TH/IZTH ROYAL LANCERS REGIMENTAL JOURNAL r Following much needed leave, the ‘ Band were back into it again. Not only ‘ were we now practising for various Public relations engagements but also. the much feared Kneller Hal] inspection was fast approaching. The weekend prior to the Kneller Hall inspection was Remembrance Sunday. We donned our new ceremonial Dress uniforms for the first time and would like to thank the Regiment and the OCA who bought them for us The 13th of November (thankfully not a Friday) dawned and. as it did. so the final preparations were being made, A last polish of boots and instruments and a brush down of uniforms. It was a cold and blustery day. First was the in- specu‘on of the Band by the lnspectorate: Col C A Ewing 0313 RA. Commandant of Kneller Hall and Lt Col D R Beat LVO ARCM psm 56, Director of Music Kneller Hall. Kneller Hall is the Royal Military School of Music and is responsible for training Bandsmen, Bandmasters and Directors of Music to the very high standards that we see in Military music today. it is the job of the Inspectorate to ensure that these high standards are maintained. lnpec- tion over, the Band presented their marching display to the Inspectorate. We were pleased with the performance but, at the time. even more pleased by the fact that we could get back to the warmth of the Band block. The lnpsec- torate then checked the books and stores. We were fortunate to have the use of the Lessng Theatre as our venue for the concert work. This meant there was room for a larger audience than just the lnspectorate with their pencils and clipboards, We thank those who attended and hope that we provided you with a greater insight into our work. All Band wives present revelled in seeing their husbands put through their paces.
