THE 9TH/IZTH ROYAL LANCERS REGlMENTAI. JOURNAI MT Troop MT has continued to tick over in a happy and hard working environment. W02 Banks has completed his MTWO Course and now "knows the ropes", much to the consternation of some We bid a fond farewell to the MTO who was promoted and appointed QM(T) and we wish him every success for the future with his new troop. November saw the arrival of the new MTO, Lt John Simpson, who came to us from C Sqn. in January the new brush swept clean and the MTO insti- gated a plan whereby MT was to be- come fully centralised or reduced to it’s correct establishment and role. After much deliberation the Sqn Ldrs decided to opt for the de-ceutralized system so a period of great change fell upon us. All Stalwart: went back to their respec- tive Sqns and with them went the drivers. We said farewell to LCpls Hampton, Gobbey, Williams. Marlow and Tprs Barry. Stokes. Warren, Stanky and Riley. This left a very small and compact team which continues to run vehicle in- spections and servicing, plus normal details, Cpls Anderson, Reid and Allen remain as the backbone of the troop and they have brought on the younger driv- ers enormously. We are no longer “Give us some men” troop, as the men we do have. are long-term drivers with their individual HGV requirements being met whilst doing a worthwhile job.
