THE 9TH/IZTH ROYAL LANCERS REGIMENTAL JOURNAL OFFICERS’ MESS The Officers' Mess. under the man- agement of 353! Pegasu, has continued to provide an extraordinarily high stan- dard of service to the officers of the Regiment. There have inevitably been a couple of changes. LCpl (Boots) Kirk- wood has left the Army and we all wish him sum and happinm. He has been replaced by LCpl Juries. whom we congratulate on his promotion. Cpl Olsen ACC also left us and our cook is now Cpl Holland. I believe the standard of food in the mess has never been better. Our mess staff is now very well qual» ified. In the last six months the Mess Sgt Major achieved a City and Guilds “fled- il distinction" in mtering management Cpl Peach and LCvl James also received City and Guilds certificates as stewards Cpl Woodbridge is the “anchor man”: he is the longest serving member of the staff and knows all the answers. There have been a number of major functions during the year. The largest of these was the Summer Ball in July, when ISO people were entertained by "Cap'n Redbeard and the crew of the Black Pig”. Another notable success oocmred in November when the officers‘ wives entertained the wives of the more prominent citizens of Wolfenbuttel to a formal luncheon. Civil, Military. Sporting and Ladies Bespoke Tailors. Regimental Tailors by appointment to the: 9th/ 12th LANCERS Naturally. when the Regiment goes out on exercise so does the Officers’ Mess. The most luxurious surrounding: were Schloss Althausen, home for 900 years to the hereditary rulers of Wun- emberg. The greatest challenge was a dinner party for the Colonel of the Reg- iment (which was attended by all offic- ers) in a tent on the edge of the Black Forest. The staff now consists of Ssgt Fe;- use. Cpls Woodbridge and Peach, LCpls Harrison, Barnes and James. and Tpr Taylorr GPGC is; c‘ \ v u mu.- BCliffadStreet.Savile Row, Inndon W1X ZHS 'l‘elepl‘mmm-WZ‘MS |
