pared work, scales, transposition and
sight reading, not forgetting the BSM‘s
rehearsal of the Band which he thoro-
ughly enjoyed — once over. The Band
presented their concert work and Regi-
mental Music, all of which went well.
This was followed by the smaller groups:
Wind Quintet, Sax Quartet, Bass en-
semble and Dance Band. All were
thoroughly enjoyed by the audience and
helped to show off the versatility of the
Band. Then one huge sigh of relief; it
was over -- but the long wait for the
result had begun.
The inspection was followed by a re»
laxed lunch in the WO‘s and Sgts! Mess

about a month later: Very Good. More
sighs. We would like to thank everyone
who aided us with different aspects of
the inspection: Driving. Catering, the
WO's and Sgts Mess and. of course,
our wives. A special mention to B Sqn
for all their hard work and support pre»
paring for the parade. After having
played at Hamburg and Kiel tattoos
the day after the Kndler Hall inspection,
things began to ease off as Christmas
approached. We played at the Saltzgit-
ter Polizei Ball where the Bandmaster
was seen to dance — what a mover! We
played for the Anglo German Carol
Service and also carols around the
Married Quarters.
The programme for 1980 is already
filling up and. as ever, many towns from
previous years have asked for repeat
performances it is pleasing to see how

well the Band is accepted in both the
German and the English communities.
We would like to congratulate Bdsm
N Morfill and LCpl G Woollard on the
additions to their families. also. Sgt
Pierce and Cpl Herbert on their respec-
tive marriages.
This gives us a chance to welcome the
newcomers: Bdsm Egerton and Bdsm
Long, the latter is at present spending
12 months at Kneller Hall on a pupils
course. We also welcome back Bdsm
Russell from his two years at Kneller
Hall.
We want to wish Bdsm Wilsdon all
the best on his return to civilian life and
to congratulate Sgt Meldrum on achiev-
ing entry to Kneller Hall as a Student
Bundmaster. He has a hard three years
course ahead of him; we wish him every
success.
