Volleyball 1986 This season saw the Regimental Volleyball Team win the BAOR title for the fifth time and the third time consecutively. However this year the Army title slipped away In a close 3-2 defeat by 42 Survey Regt RE. The year as a whole has been indifferent as we failed to win a divisional title for the first time since 1980. A good omen for the future was the emergence of several good new players. Tpr Mitchell broke into the first team and played very well all season. Cpl Pilcher after two years of training and only half a finger finally got his first team place. Most of the team play regularly for local German teams which has improved our game. We entered a local German competition and came 12th out of 24 teams which was a great achievement for us. The next season is still in doubt due to the Regimental move. We are trying to get all the competitions brought forward to allow us to play in BAOR in 1987. We are looking forward to meeting new friends in UK and also joining local leagues. The APTC Corps Sgt at Wimhish is the BAOR Volleyball train- er so that should put us in good stead for the future.
