( The Senior Prefect . ) 12 2 badges for Maritzburg school Daily News Reporter MARITZBURG , Monday . A girl who was born in China of an Italian father and a Russian mother , and who now describes herself as a good South African , is one of those who will receive the badges of two old British regi ments on behalf of her school here tomorrow . She is Raimonda lo Conte , who will be accompanied by Felicity Montgomery , daughter of a former member of the British Navy who / took part in the Zeebrugge landing from H.M.S. Vindictive . It Their school , St. Mary's , is the second oldest in Maritzburg . was founded in 1853 , four years after the Boys ' Model School , and was well established by the time that the two regiments now adopted by St. Mary's - the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers and the Ninth Queen's Royal Lancers were garrisoned here . It is more than likely that many of the children of the officers and men attended St. Mary's in Loop Street . The regiments have sent plaques and their official histories to the school . The presentation will be made by Mr. Pat Kedian , an old boy of St. Mary's . As tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day , the presentation will form part of a special pro gramme to celebrate the sain day . |
