1 Pio Sticking In Western India GUZERAT AND SALMON CUPS 1932 The Guzorat and Salmon Cup Pig Sticking Meeting th's year has been brought to a very conclusion . just successful The success of the meeting is main ly due to the very generous support afforded by The Chief Saheb of Bajana State , who not only provided most of the camp facilities , but who also took a very prominent part in all the Shikar arrangements . A very comfortable camp complete with tents fitted with electric light . was established at Bajana , and all competitors assembied on Thursday . March 24th Entries were very good , there being 17 starters for the Guzerat Cup and 13 for the Salmon Trophy . GUJERAT CUP HEAT 1. Mr. J. M. Rodwell , Ro yal Artillery ; Thakur Anup Singh of Kishangarh ; Mr. Ibrahim Khan Bajana . of * The heat slipped on a fair pig which broke with a large sounder out of an " Okia . Rodwell was first on and speared after a good hunt , over very rough ground . HEAT - 2 : -Captain R. King . Royal Deccan Horse ; Captain M. Sawers , Ro val Deccan Horse ; Mr. Shikandhhai of Bajana . Two small boars broke from grass . cover . The heat was slipped on the Shikandbhaí got away farthest one . first , but speared the wrong boar . King and Sawers did all the hunting and King speared after several jinks . HEAT 3 : Mr. Moore : Tha kur Dhokul Singh of Kishangarh : Mr. W. Hope . Royal Artillery . A Sounder in the bushes . After several left , the umpire selected the larger of two boars going away toge ther . Hope and Moore were soon on terms . The pig swung right . Hope , doing most of the work closed . The pig jinked right to Moore , but jinking again . Hope got on and speared . HEAT - 4 : Kumar Ganpati Singh of Kharwa ; Mr. Jai Narain Singh of Kharwa : Capt . T. C. Crichton , 3rd Cavalry . The heat was slipped on a very small boar in good country . Crichton was first on and survived the first jink . Ganpati Singh and Jai Narain each had a dart as also did Crichton . Ganpati got on terms in a cactus lined lane and speared . HEAT 5 : Lieut . Ravoubha . Bhav nagar State Lancers : Thakur Saheb of Dhanpura : K. S. Wakat Singhji .. The heat was slioned on a small boar . Wakat Singhji got on early , but the pig jink left when Ravoubha speared immediately . HEAT - 6 : Mr. A. Kirke - Smith ; Mr. G. C. Rose . A large Doar was driven out of a ganji by Achiana village . Kirke - Smith was first on , but after delivering a spear which did not penetrate . dropped his spear . Rose then spear he ed . SEMI - FINAL : HEAT 1 : -- Thakur Anup Singh of Kishangarh ; Capt . P. King , Royal Deccan Horse : Mr. M. W. Hope , Royal Artillery . A short jinking hunt over the culti vation after a good boar .. King and Hope were in front at first , but Anup Singh , coming in on a jink , got good spear . HEAT - 2 : -K . S. Ganpati Singh of Kharwa ; Lt. Ravoubha , Bhawnagar State Lancers ; Mr. G. C. Rose .. a towards Ravoubha and The heat was slipped on a fair pig . cne of a sounder which broke very broken ground . Ganpati Singh were neck and neck until the latter fell . Ravcubha then went on and speared . FINAL : Thakur Anup Singh of Kishangarh ; Lieut . Ravoubha Of Bhawnagar State Lancers . on The heat was slipped on a fair pig which broke out of the Kharagora Tank . Both spears were soon terms . Ravoubha had the first chancer but a jink let in Anup Singh who speared . SALMON CUP bed HEAT 1 : Mr. Shaikandbhai of Ba jana ; Thakur Saheb of Dhanpura ; Thakur Anup Singh of Kishangarh . The heat was slipped on a 27 inch jinking boar going across the of the tank . Anup Singh was first : Dhanpura got on at a jink : but Anup Singh soon regai possession and cleverly followed the pig on seve ral jinks and was unlucky not , to spear . on The pig then crossed in front of Dhanpura who speared . 50 HEAT - 2 : -Kumar Ganpati Singh of Kharwa ; Mr. Jainarain Singh ; Mr. G C. Rose . SALT A sounder brokte from some bushes and the heat was slipped on to the leading pig After a very fast hunt over excellent country in which all spears were up in türn Gaapati Singa speared five seconds ahead of Rose . HEAT 3 : -Captain C. M. O. Sa wers , Royal Deccan Horse ; Lieut . Ra voubha , Bhawnagar State Lancers : Mr. Ibrahim Khan of Bajane . The heat slipped on a good bcar driven out of a grass - ganji . Ravouba was first on . but Sawers cut in after the first jink and speared after a good hunt through grass and babul scrab . After being speared the boar succeeded in reaching the Achiana Cactus in which it was finally ilied by dismounted spears atter it had cut Aa Shikari and knocked down Re vonbha . HEAT - : - Captain T. C. Crichton . 3rd Cavalry : Thakur Dhokul Singh of Kishangarh : Mr. A. Kirke - Smith : Capt . R. S. King . Poyal Deccan Horse . A fast iinking hunt cyer good going . Kirke - Smith nearly speared , but a jink cave King his opportunity which be took . SEMT - FINAL ; HEAT 1 - Kumer Thakur Ganpati Singh of Kharwa ; Saab of Dhanpura . Heat slipped on a fair pig in good . Open country . Ganpati was first on and speared after a shor : jinking run . HEAT - 2 : -Cant . C. MO . Roval Deccan Horse : Capt . Kinz , Rovai Deccan Horse . Sewery . D. S. The heat slipped on large pig which broke frora the Asiana Cactus . The pig had a long start pd a long bunt ensued both crears doing their share cf the worl :.
