Transcription THE MCBEAN - PAULL WEDDING
Which took place on April 25 at Cold Ashton Church , Gloucestershire . The bride , Miss Aileen Paull , is the elder daughter of Mrs. Allen Paull of Cold Ashton Manor , and Captain Alexander McBean , 12th Royal Lancers , is the younger son of Mrs. V. McBean . The bridesmaids were : Lady Diana Wellesley , Lady Cecilia Wellesley , who are half sisters of Lord Cowley , Miss Penelope Herbert , and Miss Diana Holden . The best man was the Hon . Bruce Ogilvy , who has served in the bridegroom's regiment and is an Equerry to H.R.H. the Prince of Wales . The page was Master Nicholas Bristow
A COUNTRY WEDDING Captain Alexander McBean and Miss Aileen Paull
The bride , who was given away by her mother , wore a beautiful mediæval robe of parchment - coloured Venetian lace , with
a long train of pale gold tissue . A wreath
of orange buds held her tulle veil , and she carried a sheaf of white lilies .

Nicholas Bristow and Miss Diana Holden , both dressed in gold tissue , carried the train , The bridesmaids - Lady Diana and Lady Cecilia Wellesley and Miss Peggy Cruise - wore deep parchment - coloured satin frocks , with wreaths of gardenias on their hair , and carried posies of the same flowers . To the page the bridegroom gave a pearl pin and to the maids pearl bracelets .

After the ceremony Mrs. Allen Paull held a small reception , which was attended by relatives and a few friends , The bride and bridegroom left later for Gatley Park , Herefordshire , lent by Colonel and the Hon . Mrs. Marten Dunne .

Despite a fine not out effort by Hegele , the 12th Lancers failed by 15 runs to beat the 3rd Hussars in this First Round match at Willcocks yesterday , the bowling of Bury and Whitaker being too much for the Lancers ' late batsmen .
