At the first fence Glad Joycie fell , as did Mantelet at the next , while Simon's Mount was pulled out . Bright Prospect set the pace to Perahara , May King , Troon , and Fine Yarn to the stand ditch , where the last named came to grief . Half way , Perahara joined Bright Prospect , who fell at the fence before the straight , and with May King coming to grief at the final obstacle Perahara easily resisted the atten tions of Troon , and won by fifteen lengths : three lengths . Grevisk was the only other to complete the course

Chin Chin then closed with Layman , and took command at Valentine's Brook , attended by Alcazar , who joined issue three fences from home , and , jumping into the lead at the next obstacle , Mr. McAlpine's horse stalled the final effort of Chin Chin and won all out by a head ; four lengths . Irish Light was fourth , Lay man fifth , Uproar sixth , with Foxtrot the only
