The Army Point - to - Point Steeplechases were run over a course of 31 miles at Arbor fleld Cross , in the Garth Country yesterday . Although the weather was perfect and the going good there was a rather poor attend ance , due possibly to an early start at 1 p.m. The Prince of Wales's Cup was won rather easily by Mr. Lumsden's Wavering Down , which , after making all the running , finished 15 lengths clear in a field of nine . The results were : GRAND MILITARY LIGHT - WEIGHT STEEPLE CHASE for the Prince of Wales's Cup ( 19st . 71b . ) Captain H. Lumsden's ( 12th Lancers ) WAVERING DOWN ( Major R. L. McCreery ) , 1 : Captain C. Nicholson's ( 16th / 5th Lancers ) SUNNY DO ( Owner ) , 2 ; Mr. J. Joicey's ( 14th / 20th Hussars ) ( Owner ) , 3. Also ran Mr. E. 8. Sword's Rouge et Noir , Captain L. J.
